3-C Family Services Attends Great Strides Cary Walk

(Cary, NC May 9, 2009)- A large contingent of the clinical staff at 3-C Family Services, P.A. turned out in force with friends and family members at H.D. Ritter Park in Cary on Saturday, May 9th. Only the sun was brighter than the smiles of the 3-C Family Services staff as they walked the trail to raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis, a disease that attacks the exocrine (mucous) glands of the lungs, liver, pancreas, and intestines, causing progressive disability due to multisystem failure.

“This is just another way that 3-C Family Services supports children and families,” said Dr. Don Azevedo, PhD., Director of 3-C Family Services.  “We don’t just say we care, we like to show it as well.”

Dr. Sharon Luenberger-Edeal,  PhD., clinician at 3-C Family Services and organizer of the walk exclaimed, “The walk was a great success! I am proud to be a part of a company who truly cares about children and families!”

The walk itself was organized by 3-C Family Services’ own Dr. Sharon Luenberger-Edeal  whose son has been struggling with the disease. Along with the money that 3-C Family Services helped to raise for the walk, GreatStrides Cary raised approximately $80,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research.
