Amanda Harrell, Ph.D.Dr. Harrell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in assessment and treatment of adolescents, adults, and couples. Dr. Harrell earned her masters in Family and Child Studies from Miami University of Ohio and her doctorate in Child and Family Development/Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Georgia.
She holds a joint appointment with 3-C Family Service’s partner company, 3-C Institute for Social Development (3-CISD) where she serves as a research associate responsible for designing sociobehavioral interventions for children and parents. As a scientist-practitioner, Dr. Harrell has researched and published on such issues as the parent-adolescent relationship, eating disorders, and families facing economic and health disparities. She has worked in both community and private clinical settings, research institutions, has taught at the university level, and has presented at national conferences.
Her clinical expertise includes couples’ issues, parenting, parent-adolescent relationship, cutting behavior, adult women’s issues, depression and anxiety disorders, and running multiple family groups. Dr. Harrell also supervises clinicians working towards licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Harrell is a therapist for 3-C Family Services. |
