For children with social and/or behavior issues, group therapy is often the treatment of choice because it provides children the opportunity to work directly with other children.
Developed by 3-C Institute for Social Development, S.S.GRIN 3-5 is proven to be effective in increasing pro-social behaviors in children. Evidence demonstrates that youth learn a wide variety of skills through S.S.GRIN that help them make and keep positive friendships. Participation in S.S.GRIN decreases children’s risk for developing other problems, such as hanging out with antisocial peers or being the victim of bullying or teasing at school.
Within S.S.GRIN's ten, 50-minute sessions, specific social-emotional skills are taught through dynamic instruction and practice (games & activities). Your child will learn and practice skills in a group setting of no more than 8 children, ensuring that the group leader will work one-on-one with your child in the areas where they personally struggle.
Key social skills taught and practiced throughout S.S.GRIN include:
S.S.GRIN 3-5 is for children in grades 3rd-5th or in the 9-12 year old age range.
